We are a conservation minded Idaho deer outfitter and offer a limited number of whitetail deer hunts on our private ranches
We have a lengthy season starting the beginning of September for archery and finishes up the end of November for rifle. We have been managing ranches for trophy whitetail deer for the last 20 years and know what it takes to produce a quality deer herd. Good feed and light pressure makes for excellent deer hunting every time. We hunt mature whitetail bucks in the 130-150 inch range.
Idaho Deer Hunts – Archery
We have two different archery whitetail deer hunts.
One early season from August 30th until September 30th and a late bow season from December 5th until December 30th.
Both are great whitetail deer hunts: the early, basically late summer deer hunts will be spent in stands hunting bucks in their summer feeding patterns. The late deer hunts are a cold weather hunt with plenty of action because we’ll be following the deer migration. It’s colder than the September hunt, but you get to see a lot of quality bucks moving from the high country into their winter feeding grounds. The late archery whitetail deer hunts are also a great combo hunt opportunity with our mountain lion hunts.
As an experienced outfitter, I recommend a bow with a minimum 55 pound draw weight for our heavy bodied bucks and a 100-125 grain fixed blade broad head will be sufficient.
Idaho Deer Hunts – Rifle
Our rifle whitetail deer hunt during the rut in Idaho pretty much runs the month November and that’s when we concentrate on our big bucks. Most of the time will be spent in stands watching food sources the Does will normally frequent in hopes to see a big, mature buck. Every once in a while a good buck will be spotted out of rifle range, however, and at that point you may need to be able to do some hiking to get within shooting range. On this whitetail deer hunt, obviously, the longer you can sit the stand the better your chances are.
In the rut, bucks will be moving all day, so make sure to bring a good warm hunting suit and we’ll be sure you have plenty of snacks and anything else you may need to get you through the day.
Accommodations at Silver Mountain Ranch
Our Idaho whitetail deer hunts are fully guided and outfitted and will all be based out of our rustic and comfortable Silver Mountain Ranch House. All meals and creature comforts of home will be provided.
